Romeo and Juliet - Ballet Workshop Incorporated
Shakespeare's dramatic love story translated into ballet format at the magnificent Quarry Amphitheatre on the 11th, 12th, and 13th of January 2024 with fantastic music by Sergei Prokofiev. With lighting by Jerry Reinhardt this will be an unforgettable performance.
Starring Sergey Pevnev as Romeo, born in Saint Petersburg, Sergey trained at the Vaganova Ballet Academy. Sergey joined the West Australian Ballet in 2004 and was promoted to leading artist in April of 2009. Sergey's favourite roles include Petruchio in John Cranko’s Taming of the Shrew, Romeo in Youri Vamos' Romeo and Juliet and Albrecht in Giselle. Sergey received a diploma from Perm International Competition and was awarded outstanding performance by a male dancer. For Perth City Ballet, Sergey starred as Albrecht in Giselle and James in La Sylphide.
Starring Sarah Hepburn as Juliet, born in Melbourne, Sarah was awarded the prestigious Solo Seal of the Royal Academy of Dance. She starred in the ballets Cinderella, Swan Lake and Picnic at Hanging Rock with Ballet Workshop Incorporated. Her favourite roles include Bianca in Taming of the Shrew, Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, and Bluebird in Sleeping Beauty.
